About Us

The Skills Laboratory of the Institute provides a controlled, supervised environment for health care professionals to practice various life-saving clinical skills, thereby promoting patient survival and safety. The Institute trains undergraduates, interns, postgraduates and faculty every year in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) at the Skills Lab at both campuses.

In addition, laypersons from the community are given health education and training to become competent in life-saving skills, so that they are able to deal with common emergencies and life-threatening medical situations. The Institute thus makes a significant contribution to improving emergency health care in the local community.
